Babies are a dangerous subject for a contemporary artist - there's the risk of falling into the pit of cute, trite or cliché.  Despite that, Carol K. Brown takes up the challenge.  Using paintings, photographs and video, she explores the line between “art" and “cute”.  The work in this exhibition alludes to the overwhelming nature of parenthood, and the loss of control of our offspring.

Browns’ career has been one of persistent reinvention- often with surprising results. There is however, a consistent quirky, dark sided approach to all her work. Beginning as a metal sculptor,Brown explored various media and her work evolved in numerous directions: anthropomorphic abstractions, figurative paintings and social commentary, but there has always been strength to her visual explorations.
